2022-03 March Report
New year's resolution still going! Though between work requiring me in the office two days a week and wedding planning ramping up I haven't been quite so effective at decluttering. Throw in a few necessary purchases and it's pretty close to one-in-one-out for this past month. Better than accumulating, but given my birthday is in April I need to step up my game.
11 items in (24 total YTD):
- 1 x bra
- 1 x pair of jogging trousers
(purchased with the store credit from the blouse I returned in January)
- 1 x pairs of shoes (for fiance)
- 2 x doormats
- 2 x replacement plugs - we just needed one, but they were only available in a 3-pack
- 1 x spare set of silicone "shoelaces"
- Wedding stuff:
- 1 x pair of shoes (for me)
- 1 x wedding veil
- 1 x chiffon-like jacket
13 items out (64 total YTD):
- 1 x borrowed book - returned to owner
- 1 x bra with snapped underwire - binned
- 3 x old doormats (more soil than doormat) - binned
- 1 x pair of broken-beyond-repair shoes - binned
- 1 x broken dog toy - binned
- 1 x broken reusable water bottle - binned
- 1 x broken washing-up bowl - binned
- 1 x old aerial cable - put in neighbour's skip
- 1 x latte mug - donated to work charity auction
- 1 x lotion set - donated to work charity auction
- 1 x biscuit tin - gifted to MIL filled with scones
Other Little Victories
- Managed to fix a drawer with two random screws floating around my toolbox - this is both good and bad, that drawer annoyed the crap out of me, but my inner hoarder is now justified at having kept those two screws for god knows how long.
- I wired a plug for the first time since "learning how" at school after the plug on the iron shattered. That was fun.
- The improved weather has let us finally get to trim the hedges in the front garden and make a start on getting rid of the brambles that took over the flowerbeds in the back. Only a start because the garden waste bin fills fast.
